We’ve changed the way you sign in.

For Car and Home, you’ll now sign in with the same details you use to shop at Tesco.

So, you’ll only have one password to remember - whether you want to check your documents, make changes to your policy or stock up on some essentials.

    Make sure you have your own Tesco account

    If you don’t already have one, we’ll help you set up a Tesco account in your own name. You can use that to sign in to Your Insurance Account.

      Check your details match in both places

      Make sure your first name, last name and postcode are the same in your Tesco account and on your insurance policy. This makes the linking process easy.

        Link your insurance policy to your account

        When you sign in, you might need to link your Tesco account with your insurance policy. So you’ll need to have your policy number handy.

          If you already have a Tesco account

          Make sure the following details are the same in your Tesco account and on your insurance policy.

          • Your first and last nameYour first and last name
          • Your postcodeYour postcode

          The details need to match exactly, so we can link your policy.

              If you’re not sure

              You can sign in and start the linking process and we’ll let you know if your details match.

              Please be aware - If you share your Tesco account with someone, they’ll be able to sign in to your insurance account once your accounts are linked. To prevent this, you might want to change the password on your Tesco account.

                  To manage your policy online, you’ll need an account. If you don’t already have one, or you don’t have one in your own name, you can register for free.

                    If you want to, you can opt in to Clubcard and marketing communications and hear about exclusive offers from Tesco.

                      If you don’t want to manage your policy online

                      You don’t need an account. You can call us for help with your policy, but you might have to pay an admin fee if you want to make any changes.

                            To check your personal details in your Tesco account:

                            Checking your insurance policy

                            Sign in to your Tesco account and start the policy linking process. We’ll let you know if your details match or not.

                              To make it easier to link your policy to your Tesco account, please make sure your details are exactly the same in both places. If they don’t match, you can either update your Tesco account or make changes on your insurance policy.

                                Updating your Tesco account

                                To update your personal details in your Tesco account:

                                • Sign in and select My Account.Sign in and select My Account.

                                  If your personal details are wrong on your policy, please call our Customer Service team to get them updated.

                                  Lines are open Monday to Friday 8am-8pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am-2pm.

                                    If you share a Tesco account with someone, and they know your sign-in details, they’ll be able to sign in to Your Insurance Account. That’s means they’ll see your policy details once you’ve linked your accounts.

                                    To prevent this:

                                    • change the password on your Tesco accountchange the password on your Tesco account

                                    Register for a Tesco account

                                      If you have 2 accounts for your Car and Home Insurance policies at the moment, you’ll still have 2 accounts after we’ve made the changes.

                                      That means you’ll need 2 Tesco accounts, with different email addresses, to manage your insurance policies.

                                        Enter your email address on the sign in screen to see if your account already exists. If it doesn’t, just click Register for an account and we’ll help you get one set up.
